Council and the bodies with a public archive. Nothing here is typed by hand.

Every meeting below is rebuilt from Berkeley’s Granicus feed and the agenda pages on berkeleyca.gov. Nothing on this page is typed by hand.
City Council meets on Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m., generally two Tuesdays a month, in the BUSD Boardroom at 1231 Addison Street. There is a long summer recess — roughly from the end of July to the middle of September — and the calendar above shows it as an absence of meetings rather than an announcement.
Watch for two entries on one date. A Special session is sometimes scheduled earlier the same afternoon as the regular meeting, with a separate agenda. The calendar above lists both. If you want the meeting where public business is heard, it is the 6:00 p.m. one.
Closed sessions are a different room. Standalone Special Closed meetings appear on their own dates, sometimes midweek, and are held at City Hall, 2180 Milvia Street. The public does not attend them. They are listed here rather than filtered out, because knowing the Council met at all is worth something.
Cancellations happen and are reflected on the next rebuild, so a meeting that disappears from this calendar was usually cancelled rather than missed. The city’s own meeting schedule PDF is the best statement of the intended pattern for the year.
| Body | Granicus view | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| City Council | view_id=5 | The elected body. Nine members, five votes to carry. Everything binding happens here. |
| Zoning Adjustments Board | view_id=2 | Use permits, variances and design review. Most development in Berkeley is decided here and only reaches Council on appeal. |
| Rent Stabilization Board | view_id=3 | Berkeley’s rent board is separately elected by the voters, not appointed by Council. It sets the annual general adjustment and hears petitions. |
Berkeley publishes no iCal feed of its own. Granicus does publish RSS, but its timestamps are not safe to consume without correction — see Data for what goes wrong — so this site normalises them and republishes the result.
Opens in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook. 5 upcoming meetings.
It is generated from the same corrected data as the grid above, so the times in it are the scheduled times rather than the ones the upstream feed reports.
